Summary: As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for various daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting functions. You will supervise 2-3 employees in order to support the ethanol facility's accounting and administration functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Compile information for SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, etc.), including drafting of all disclosures and footnotes. Responsible for XBRL reporting.
  • Research SEC reporting regulations and GAAP accounting rules.
  • Work closely with external audit team, including preparation of schedules for annual audits or quarterly reviews.
  • Responsible for accounting for stock-based compensation, maintenance of share issuances, forfeitures and assumptions within the subledger and related SEC filings for executives.
  • Participate in any other reporting and analysis required by senior management.
  • Assist with monthly consolidated financial close, including preparation of supporting financial schedules.
  • Assist with preparation of derivative accounting entries and disclosures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented; proficiency for accuracy; dependable; positive attitude; team player.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Education/Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with at least three to five years of experience working in an accounting position and/or compiling regulatory filings (CPA preferred)
  • SEC reporting and XBRL tagging experience preferred
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Knowledge of common accounting practices and procedures, including solid understanding of GAAP
  • Strong writing/grammatical skills and high attention to detail
  • Comfortable working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Experience with Dynamics or a similar accounting software package a plus)

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job includes but is not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, frequent computer use, frequent telephone use, some lifting or moving up to 30 lbs.
