Strongpoint Partners is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. As a member of the team, you will be focused on accounting, reporting, and forecasting across Strongpoint. In addition, they will work on ad hoc analysis and technology projects. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and embraces a collaborative work style.
**The hybrid role will be based in Strongpoint’s corporate office in downtown Chicago. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and will also support the FP&A team.**
Strongpoint is a financial services firm that provides third party retirement administration (“TPA”), payroll, investment advisory, and recordkeeping to small-and-medium businesses across the United States. The Company provides employers with an integrated software platform that combines retirement plan and payroll information. The Company is pursuing a strategy to grow via a combination of add-on acquisitions and organic growth initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Owning month-end close processes which includes posting/reviewing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing monthly financial statements, and other accounting/finance responsibilities
- Provide value-added analytical management reporting, including ad hoc requests, to help provide the organization with a deeper understanding of the business
- Preparing monthly reporting packages for business leaders that have a direct impact to drive business decisions
- Support finance integration of new partners that join Strongpoint
- Utilizing technology to drive improvement financial accounting processes and reporting
- Work independently with little direct supervision as well as within a team environment
- Able to shift between priorities as needed throughout the workday
- Assisting the Finance team with other projects, including monthly consolidations and year-end financial statement audits
Requirements:
- 3 -5 years of experience in accounting and finance
- Revenue recognition, accounts receivable, reconciliation, and financial Statement Proficiency
- The ability to navigate ambiguity
- The desire to take ownership of projects and ideas, while being able to identify gaps and other areas of improvement
- The ability to adapt to a dynamic and ever-changing environment
- Diligence and attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Bachelor degree in accounting
- Sage Intacct experience is a plus
- Big 4 experience is a plus
- CPA is a plus
