GHJ Search & Staffing is partnering with a growing, established organization in West Los Angeles seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role, wants broader exposure, and is interested in working closely with senior finance leadership.
The Senior Accountant will support a variety of accounting and reporting activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, billing, reconciliations, audit support, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and closing entries
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Maintain and review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Support client billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and related calculations
- Review accounts payable activity and support payment processing
- Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with annual audit and tax requests
- Perform financial analysis and ad hoc reporting
- Research accounting matters as needed
- Document and improve accounting procedures, reports, and internal processes
- Partner with the Controller and other members of the finance team on ongoing initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
Preferred Experience:
- Public accounting/audit experience or a combination of public and corporate accounting
- CPA or progress toward CPA designation
- Experience with NetSuite or another large ERP
- Financial services or other complex corporate accounting experience
- Experience improving accounting processes, reporting, or systems
