Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant: Turkey is responsible for supporting all local statutory accounting, tax compliance, and financial recordkeeping requirements for WireMasters’ Turkish legal entity. This role ensures accurate books and records in accordance with Turkish GAAP (TFRS where applicable), supports VAT and statutory filings, and serves as the primary local finance liaison with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining legal, tax, and audit compliance while enabling scalable operations in Turkey.

Key Responsibilities
Statutory Accounting & Compliance

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounting in compliance with Turkish statutory requirements and WireMasters internal controls.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in the local accounting system.
• Support month end and year end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial records.
• Ensure proper documentation and retention of statutory accounting records and support materials.

Tax & Regulatory Support

• Coordinate preparation and submission of VAT returns, withholding taxes, stamp tax, and other statutory filings in partnership with local tax advisors.
• Reconcile VAT accounts and support VAT audits or government inquiries.
• Monitor changes in Turkish accounting or tax regulations and escalate potential impacts to EMEA and Corporate Finance.

Accounts Payable, Receivable & Treasury

• Support accounts payable and receivable processing in accordance with local requirements.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and local payment processing.
• Support tracking of customs-related costs, import VAT, duties, and landed cost elements in coordination with Operations and 3PL partners.

Audit & External Coordination

• Act as the day to day contact for external accountants, tax advisors, and statutory auditors.
• Assist in preparing schedules, explanations, and supporting documentation for audits and inspections.
• Support internal reporting requests from EMEA Finance and Corporate HQ.

Systems, Controls & Reporting

• Ensure accurate and compliant use of the local ERP and accounting system.
• Support implementation and adherence to basic internal controls aligned with WireMasters standards.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within Turkey based statutory accounting.
• Solid working knowledge of Turkish GAAP, VAT, and statutory tax requirements.
• Experience working with external accounting firms or auditors.
• High attention to detail, strong documentation habits, and compliance mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a multinational or foreign owned entity.
• Exposure to import/export, customs, or landed cost accounting.
• ERP or accounting system experience used in Turkey (e.g., local GAAP compliant systems).
• English proficiency sufficient for coordination with EMEA and U.S. finance teams.
