Your Primary Responsibilities Include:

The senior accountant plays a pivotal role in overseeing and executing advanced accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing leadership to junior accounting staff. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Lead the preparation of complex financial reports, including comprehensive balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identify key trends, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making at the executive level.
  • Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Take a lead role in coordinating and overseeing both internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and addressing audit findings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes, support organizational initiatives, and contribute to overall financial success.
  • Oversee the reconciliation process for complex accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting, or similar; OR associate degree and two (2) years of experience in functional area; OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience in functional area. 
  • Additional three (3) years+ of progressive experience in functional area.

Additional Requirements:

  • CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge of OCC regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven skills and experience with accounting principles and functions.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office 365 and the following technology: FIS (Horizon), BankTel, advanced knowledge of Excel and functional programming.
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education, certifications, etc. as applicable to advancing in the organization.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to speak confidently.
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change daily, and where employees wear many hats.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think "outside the box" and prioritize tasks and decisions in a timely manner.
  • Self-directed, yet effective working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Responsive and customer-focused with a demonstrated use of professional judgment.

Benefits

This role's annual base salary range is $100,000 - $127,000.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent; OR associate degree +2 years experience; OR high school diploma +4 years experience
