As a rapidly growing organization, we are seeking a self-starting Senior Accountant who can solve problems in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role will manage accounting and support operations through financial analysis, process improvement and documentation, and the implementation and maintenance of systems and controls. Reporting directly to the Controller & Director of Strategic Finance, you will help build efficient, scalable, best-in-class accounting and finance functions that support our growth, with high visibility to the CFO and senior leadership team. Roles & Responsibilities
- In-depth involvement across all accounting areas with ownership of payroll, A/P, and month-end close entries and reconciliations
- Manage General Ledger and prepare/post journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Complete all month-end close activities, including reconciliations for all accruals, prepaids, reserves, fixed assets, leases, depreciation/amortization, and debt
- Participate in preparing schedules and supporting documents during various audits and examinations (financial statements, 401k, insurance, tax and other related compliance)
- Run the bi-weekly payroll process for the company
- Identify and prioritize areas of opportunity to automate and scale business processes, analyses, and reporting
- Document and monitor internal controls, in addition to assisting with periodic internal audit procedures
- Review key business process designs to improve expediency, efficiency, and quality while ensuring compliance with regulations and industry best practices
- Participate in the development and detailed review of annual operating budgets and financial performance projections
- Assist with financial analysis and variance analysis of monthly financial results
- Develop and maintain a culture of transparency, collaboration, feedback, and excellence, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Active CPA designation preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting required, with strong general ledger and month-end close experience
- Desired 2+ years of experience in public accounting
- Experience working within an accounting software environment; familiarity with Sage Intacct preferred
- Experience reviewing lease agreements and understanding of accounting for lease transactions (ASC 842)
- Advanced skillset in Excel required; inclusive of data cleaning/aggregation/analysis tools, such as VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, and commonly used financial formulas
- Demonstrated experience building financial models, automating reports, and aggregating, cleaning, and analyzing large/complex financial and operational data sets required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Query and Power Pivot preferred
- Experience using PowerPoint or other presentation tools to create management and Board presentations
- Prior C-Level exposure and familiarity working in a high-growth environment preferred
- Self-motivated contributor, with ability to operate independently to drive results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience learning new systems and tools and proactively looking for opportunities to create operational efficiencies with existing processes
- Background in multi-facility healthcare or other multi-business unit reporting environment preferred
- Familiarity with ABA and Autism services are a plus, though not required
- Data-based decision maker, driving recommendations through methodical analysis over gut/feel
- Demonstrated sound judgment and comfort in leading strategic decision making, project prioritization, as well as financial and human capital allocation for privately backed organizations

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Active CPA designation
- 5+ years of accounting experience with general ledger and month-end close
- 2+ years of public accounting experience
- Experience working within an accounting software environment
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct
