MORSE is seeking a meticulous, highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our small, agile, and growing Finance team. This role is ideal for someone coming from public accounting who enjoys digging into the details, owning the numbers end‑to‑end, and building scalable processes.

Responsibilities
  • Own day to day accounting operations, including:

    • Payroll and labor distribution

    • Accounts Payable

    • Accounts Receivable

    • Fixed assets, capitalization, and depreciation

    • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations

    • Equity Accounting

  • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.

  • Perform monthly close activities and produce accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and maintain clear, well documented audit trails.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts; provide variance analysis and insight to support decision making.

  • Prepare and monitor monthly cash flow budgets and reports to support effective cash management.

  • Maintain the fixed asset ledger and related book/tax depreciation schedules.

  • Support external auditors with schedules, documentation, and responses to audit requests.

  • Identify opportunities to improve controls, streamline processes, and enhance data quality.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 1-4 years of experience in public accounting (audit or assurance strongly preferred) or a mix of public accounting and corporate accounting.

  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting, including contract revenue recognition and audit support.

  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., lookups, pivot tables, linking schedules, error checking) and comfort working with large data sets.

  • Proven track record of:

    • High attention to detail and accuracy

    • Thorough documentation of workpapers and reconciliations

    • Following and enhancing control processes

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining quality and completeness of work.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to explain findings and issues to both finance and non finance stakeholders.

  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to excel in a small team environment.

MORSE Corp’s salary range for this role carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to, prior experience, education, skills and expertise, location, internal equity, and other factors that are job related and consistent with business need. Therefore, final offer amounts may vary from the amount stated. Depending on role eligibility, total compensation may also include bonus, stock, 401(k) match, paid time off, medical, dental, vision and life insurance.

Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year. MORSE maintains an “open” leave policy that does not restrict exempt, regular full-time employees to a specific number of paid sick or vacation days. However, this policy is not an “unlimited” paid leave policy. 

Compensation
$80,000$110,000 USD

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
