The NAIP Senior Accountant, reports to the NAIP Accounting Manager and will be a key member of the NAIP Accounting team and work in collaboration with the NAIP Plant Managers and NAIP finance team. Candidate must be a self-starter, adept at communicating with multiple levels of an organization, and have the ability to build trust, influence, and work with teams cross functionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare JEs to accrue any unrecorded revenue or cost items; accruals, handle special plant events accounting - e.g. closures, start-ups, insurance claims etc.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for “plant-controlled” balance sheet accounts per company policy
  • Produce accurate monthly BS & P&L’s for the plants in accordance with GAAP
  • Establish, communicate, and track plant closing calendar
  • Lead monthly review meetings of plant P&L's
  • Support inter/intra company reconciliations 
  • Liaise with FP&A and finance team members
  • Explain variance fluctuations in plants P&L’s
  • Provide accounting guidance to plant managers for invoice coding
  • Ad-hoc analytics for responsible sites’ BS & P&L’s
  • Track and report progress of assigned projects
  • Lead effective communication, coordination and cooperation amongst the project team and between other company functions or business unit leaders.
  • Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders across the company.

Requirements

  • Accounting degree
  • experience with accounting Close Process
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including month end close for Accruals, prepaid, inventory
  • Comfortable working in a Fast-Paced Environment
  • Large ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics SL a plus)
  • Strong Excel skills a must
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Dispute resolution and claims management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
