Job Summary:
This position has responsibility for the recording, tracking, and reporting all financial information for Watershed Foods and related entities. This position works closely with the VP of Finance to ensure that all information needed to complete the monthly financial reporting requirements are met. Any other cost reduction projects as well as general accounting functions fall under this position.
QualificationsKey Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger and resolves discrepancies.
- Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports for both internal and external parties.
- When staffed accordingly, supervise and guide lower-level accountants.
- Monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payable agings.
- Weekly cash position modeling and reporting.
- Reporting and tracking of inventory.
- Implementation of key internal controls for to assist in management decisions as well as integrity of financial reporting.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Accounting degree with 3-5 years of professional experience.
- Organization and ability to multi-task on a daily basis.
- Excellent communication to manage relationships internally and externally.
- Analytical skills to monitor various spreadsheets and systems to track inventory, A/P, A/R, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite (advanced level MS Excel user highly preferred) and information systems.
- Certified Public Accountant licensing and/or Certified Management Accountant certification credential preferred.
