Description
Overview:
FiberLight, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to support corporate accounting for a multi-state fiber networking company backed by a global private equity firm. This high-impact role offers cross-functional collaboration and the opportunity to strengthen accounting operations in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end close and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Key areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
-Revenue recognition accounting (subscription, construction, and deferred revenue)
-Construction/project accounting
-Lease accounting and record keeping.
-Accounting for debt
-Accounting for operating expenses, including compensation plans (e.g. commissions)
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support audits and maintain internal control documentation.
- Collaborate with FP&A, IT, and operations to complete responsibilities and improve processes.
- Contribute to special projects driven by evolving business needs.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Familiarity with modern accounting systems and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA license (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and 842
- Public accounting or audit experience
- Experience with NetSuite and/or Salesforce
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, work independently, and deliver results in a dynamic environment
Skills Required
