We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Zurich as a maternity cover for an initial period of 9 months.
In this role, you will take ownership of the accounting and financial management of our Swiss entities while working closely with local management, our international Finance organization, and our Shared Service Centers.
The position reports to the Head of Finance DACH.
This is a highly visible and hands-on role with responsibility for the financial management of our Swiss entities. You will work closely with local management, our international Finance organization and Shared Service Centers, gaining exposure across accounting, reporting, budgeting, tax and project finance.
Potential extension beyond the initial assignment may be possible depending on business needs.

Job requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Several years of experience in accounting, finance or controlling within Switzerland.
- Strong knowledge of Swiss accounting principles and tax processes.
- Experience preparing monthly and annual financial statements.
- Solid understanding of payroll accounting, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Hands-on, proactive and detail-oriented working style.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and business stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced international environment.
- Fluent German and English language skills (minimum B2 level in both written and spoken communication)
Job responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the accounts of five Swiss and one French legal entity, with approximately 160 employees in total.
- Own and ensure accurate project accounting across the Swiss entities.
- Manage the month-end closing process, including analytical reviews and the preparation, presentation and explanation of management accounts.
- Understand, review and explain payroll journals, while payroll processing itself is outsourced.
- Review and optimize existing processes in close collaboration with our Shared Service Centers.
- Prepare tax declarations and coordinate relevant tax-related activities.
- Support the local budgeting and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure monthly time entries and invoicing are completed accurately and on time.
- Support local project managers in preparing customer invoices and managing projects in the ERP
- Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Continuously improve and standardize finance processes to ensure efficient and reliable financial operations.

Skills Required
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5–7 years of relevant accounting, finance, or controlling experience in Switzerland
- Strong knowledge of Swiss accounting and tax processes
- Experience in accounting, corporate finance, auditing, and financial analysis
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including with C-level executives
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Commercial and business acumen
- Experience managing and standardizing finance processes
- Excellent written and spoken German and English
- Ability to read and communicate in French
- Experience with NetSuite
