Germany Senior Accountant
We are seeking for senior accountant to lead operational accounting, financial and tax reporting for several German subsidiaries of public US SaaS company.
We are looking for a candidate that can take ownership and ensure accurate and on-time reporting of financial results in accordance with US GAAP and HGB.
The role
- Prepare and submit the statutory accounts in accordance with HGB
- Lead local audits when it is required by subsidiary size as part of annual reporting
- Assist with group audit of subsidiaries
- Assist in corporate income tax and trade tax reporting, preparation and submission of VAT returns, Z4 and Z5 reporting
- Maintain two sets of accounting books according US GAAP and HGB
- Lead corporate monthly, quarterly, and annual close of subsidiary’s books
- Support day-to-day accounting and financial activity of subsidiaries around accounts payable, cash operations and treasury activity, lease accounting, paid-vacation liability
- Partner with international shared services organization where certain accounting functions have been centralized
- Support group controls environment in accordance with SOX principals and implement process improvements to enhance controls
- Other AD HOC projects and tasks
What you’ll need to be successful
- At least two years’ experience in reporting accountant role in Germany
- Professional accounting education or recognized accounting qualification
- Fluent English and German languages
- Experience with NetSuite Oracle or similar ERP systems
- Independent and timely achievement of assigned tasks
- Successful communication with diverse accounting teams
