Title: Senior Accountant – North American Region
Location: Atlanta, GA
Grade: 11
Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility
The North America Senior Accountant will report directly to the North America Accounting Senior Manager and is responsible for supporting on-time month end close, performing account reconciliations and balance sheet analytics.

Manage daily accounting operations to ensure the accuracy of general ledger. Review flux and trend analyses of financial statements data monthly.

Responsible for month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries.

Prepare and review account reconciliations.

Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams to determine the proper accounting treatment of business transactions and resolve any aging items.

Support internal and external audits, as well as external reporting activities.

Assess current SOX controls to ensure adequacy. Identify and implement any new controls on existing or new processes, including updating/creating process documentation, collaborating with business process owners, etc.

Review complex and unusual transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

Lead ad hoc projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
-
5+ years of related corporate accounting experience

Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting

Microsoft Excel medium to advanced user

Strong analytical skills, ability to research issues in a complex accounting structure to resolve problems; detail-oriented, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at broader level.

Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to multi-task while working with a variety of individuals in both team and self-directed environments.

Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of management

Ability to work within defined time constraints and within deadlines during month end financial close while driving longer-term projects to successful completion.
Preferred Qualifications

CPA license

Background in large multinational company

Experience with Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Azure Data Lake, and SmartView tools

Public Accounting experience a plus
