Your Role in Our Story:

As a Senior Accountant you become a vital member of our Group Control Finance Team. You will oversee complex accounting tasks at a group level while providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
Our diverse, international team comprises a finance director, a finance manager, three FP&A colleagues, three financial controllers, and two accountants. Reporting directly to the finance manager, you will handle accounts payable, intercompany transactions, and a variety of group-related accounting topics and automations. You will collaborate closely with our financial controllers, accountants, and the broader operations and Business Support departments across the group. In essence, your role involves:
- Leadership and Supervision: Oversee the work of junior accountants, providing mentorship and support. Review reconciliations, and reports prepared by junior staff.
- Complex Accounting Tasks: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes: prepare complex balance sheet reconciliations, i.e. account 2950, and reconcile debit and credit cards
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making: Vendor and Customer ledger analysis. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis.
- Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Project Management: Lead and manage special accounting projects and initiatives. Ensure timely completion and successful implementation of projects.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the maintenance and development of annual budgets: updating PO Budget information for each budgeting cycle & link PO Budgets and perform analysis on gaps in linking. Contribute to budgeting and forecasting with financial insights from your experience in working with our financial accounting data.
Your Expertise:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
- Over 2 years of comprehensive experience in accounting functions within an international company in the Netherlands, with group-level accounting as a plus.
- Proven track record of handling complex accounting tasks.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Consistent high performance in current accounting role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
