The Department: Controllership
The Role: Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting)
Gemini is looking to hire a dynamic Senior Accountant responsible for creation and maintenance of financial reports and associated data supported various legal entities across Gemini. The Financial Reporting Senior Accountant plays a key role in the preparation, analysis, and delivery of external financial statements, regulatory reporting and internal management reporting. This role supports quarterly and annual SEC filings, audit coordination and enhancements to reporting processes and controls. The ideal candidate has strong GAAP knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
This role is required to be in person twice a week at either our San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY office.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K filings, financial statements, footnotes and MD&A.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tie-outs, support schedules and disclosure checklists.
- Monitor new accounting standards and support implementation.
- Assist in quarterly variance analysis, clearly quantify and document key underlying business drivers.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages / material for the consumption of the CAO, CFO and leadership team.
- Help document and strengthen accounting and reporting procedures.
- Work with the business and regulatory teams to ensure transactions and new developments are appropriately recorded and presented in the financial statements.
- Document and implement accounting policies in-line with the latest GAAP and SEC Reg S-X requirements for use by team members around the globe.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and drive automation and scalability.
- Support external relationships with audit professionals, consultants, and tax advisors, inclusive of networking and building contingency plans for possible future transactions and related accounting permutations.
- Support outsourcing financial activities to Gemini affiliates and any sub-outsourcing to other third-party service providers, ensuring services are provided in accordance with the respective regulatory requirements and internal policies, processes and procedures and agreed service level agreements.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance or related field.
- 4+ years work experience in accounting.
- Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus.
- CPA (or equivalent license).
- Experience with SEC financial reporting.
- Experience with Workiva, Netsuite, and/or Sage is a plus.
- Willingness and commitment to learn and go deep; crypto experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience in a regulated industry preferably financial services will be advantageous. We highly value experience managing numerous competing deliverables.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ownership of complex areas.
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced and changing financial environment with the demonstrated capacity for excellent judgment, communication, and negotiation skills.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $92,400 - $132,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
In the United States, we offer a hybrid work approach at our hub offices, balancing the benefits of in-person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. Expectations may vary by location and role, so candidates are encouraged to connect with their recruiter to learn more about the specific policy for the role. Employees who do not live near one of our hubs are part of our remote workforce.
