Title: Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting is a key member of the Reporting Function by assisting in the planning, and preparation of all financial reporting requirements, including but not limited to quarterly reports and annual reports. The Senior Accountant of financial reporting is also responsible for the preparation of approximately 10+ statutory/lender required audits and plays a key role in other projects as they arise.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting. This can be a hybrid remote role (3 days in office), but should be someone based local to the Herndon, VA office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares monthly reconciliations and journal entries including but not limited to for debt, capitalized interest, cumulative translation adjustments.
- Prepares quarterly financial statements and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP/IFRS.
- Prepares and completes approximately 10+ statutory/lender reports including managing external resources including auditors, legal contacts and others to ensure timely filing in various jurisdictions.
- Provides audit support for consolidated and separate opinion financial statements.
- Assists in the creation of the monthly reporting package, including performing various analytical reviews and prepares monthly ad-hoc reports.
- Ensures financials statement close deadlines are tracked and completed.
- Participate with the implementation of new reporting standards in compliance with both U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Assists/prepares monthly intercompany reconciliation and records quarterly allocation entries as needed.
- Coordinates with the Director of tax and Director of GL on various accounting issues.
- Interface with external auditors and other advisors, as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure
- Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables
- Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities
- Superb ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from peers
- Strong and effective team player in working with various disciplines and peer groups; can cover all gamut of tasks required to ‘getting a job done’
- Strong attention to details with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Advanced Excel Skills with ability to create pivot tables at a minimum, Index Match would be fantastic
- Working knowledge of various Accounting Software packages
- Strong GAAP skills/knowledge
Experience/Education
- 4 - 7 years of professional experience in Accounting
- CPA licensed and Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- Direct experience in auditing
- Candidates having experience with Big 4 Accounting firms are highly encouraged to apply
- Direct experience working with NetSuite or similar platform would make a candidate stand out
- Candidates with experience in the Data Center industry, Construction, or Real Estate environments are strongly encouraged to apply
US Salary Range
$120,000—$130,000 USD
