The Senior Assistant Accountant will be responsible for handling account reconciliations, managing accounts payable, processing financial transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role involves reconciling customer loan accounts, performing bank reconciliations, maintaining the fixed asset register, and overseeing petty cash management. The candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager while also providing administrative support, including maintaining filing systems, generating reports, and coordinating office supplies. Responsibilities:
- Manage petty cash control and perform regular reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Handle account reconciliation, including reconciliation of customer loan accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and process business expenses.
- Process cheque payments, customer receipts, and other accounting transactions.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the finance department, including filing, report generation, reconciliations, and data processing.
- Maintain accounting documents and records, ensuring all files are accurate and up to date.
- Update and reconcile customer receipts and accounts.
- Perform data entry and ensure accuracy of financial information.
- Provide administrative support including maintaining filing systems, generating reports, and ordering office supplies.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
- CPA qualification or currently in the process of qualifying.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Well-presented, neat, and professional.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Finance Manager and support other areas of the business when required.
Skills Required
