BlueFlag LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant and Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will run our day-to-day accounting in QuickBooks Online, support our US CPA with tax and compliance, and build financial analyses for new products and services. You will be our primary internal accounting and finance resource, working closely with the Managing Partner and an external US CPA firm.
What You'll Do
- Maintain the general ledger in QuickBooks Online
- Own month-end close: record journal entries, reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts, maintain AR/AP and fixed asset schedules
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and basic cash flow reports
- Ensure accurate coding by customer/contract and cost category
- Prepare workpapers and schedules for US federal and multi-state tax filings and partner/owner allocations (with US CPA oversight)
- Track estimated tax payments (federal and state) and post CPA adjustments into QuickBooks
- Help maintain a simple, compliant cost structure for government contracts (direct vs. indirect costs, unallowable cost tracking, indirect rate groupings)
- Prepare internal contract/project cost reports and maintain clear documentation for potential review or audit
- Build Excel models for new products and services (revenue/cost projections, pricing scenarios, margin and sensitivity analyses)
- Analyze profitability by product/service line, customer type, and contract type
- Present clear, actionable summaries of financial analysis to leadership (tables, charts, short write-ups)
- Document basic SOPs for close, invoicing, and expense approvals and suggest improvements in the use of QuickBooks and Excel templates
- Work remotely from the Philippines with at least 3–4 hours overlap with US Eastern Time on most days
