This role goes beyond processing transactions.
You'll help oversee financial accounting, payroll, accounts payable, reporting, internal controls, and financial compliance while ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, and handled with integrity.
Think of this role as part accountant, part financial systems leader, part problem-solver, and part team leader.

📊 What Does a Senior Accountant Actually Do?Simply put:
You help ensure the Center's financial operations are accurate, organized, compliant, and completed on time.You'll manage and monitor financial accounting systems while helping ensure the Center meets applicable Company, Center, and Government requirements.
💼 What You'll DoAs Senior Accountant, you'll:
💰 Manage Financial Accounting Systems — Oversee and maintain financial processes and systems that support Center operations.
🧾 Oversee Payroll & Accounts Payable — Help ensure payroll and accounts payable processes are accurate, timely, and properly maintained.
📊 Maintain Financial Accuracy — Review financial information, identify discrepancies, and ensure required reports and deliverables are completed correctly and on time.
🔍 Analyze & Resolve Issues — Evaluate financial systems and data, identify potential concerns, determine causes, and develop appropriate solutions.
🛡️ Maintain Strong Internal Controls — Help protect Center resources by maintaining financial controls designed to prevent errors, fraud, misuse, and improper financial activity.
🔒 Protect Confidential Information — Handle sensitive financial, payroll, employee, and student information with professionalism and discretion.
🤝 Support Center Operations — Provide reliable and efficient financial services that support staff, students, and overall Center operations.
👥 Lead & Develop Your TeamThis is also a leadership position.
The Senior Accountant helps ensure employees responsible for financial, payroll, and accounts payable functions produce accurate and timely work.
Leadership responsibilities may include:

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in accounting, or in an associated business field including satisfactorily passing Intermediate Accounting I, II and III
- Two years experience in accounting,
- Two years supervisory experience and/or Job Corps finance managerial training during employment as an Adams’ Accountant.
- Must take company accounting assessment tests.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in accounting or an associated business field, including satisfactory completion of Intermediate Accounting I, II, and III
- Two years of accounting experience
- Two years of supervisory experience and/or Job Corps finance managerial training during employment as an Adams' Accountant
- Successfully complete company accounting assessment tests
