Responsibilities:
- Serve as client contact, providing strategic counsel, managing expectations and ensuring strong relationships; provide top-tier client service, building trust and unlocking growth opportunities
- Drive communications plans and launch strategies, including events
- Formulate media strategies that will not only help clients find the right reporter for their story at the right time, but strategies that are newsworthy from the onset and can help advance clients’ businesses
- Retain high-level media contacts among a variety of reporters, editors, producers, and creators (YouTubers/TikTokers)
- Research trends to proactively counsel clients on their messaging and thought leadership
- Demonstrate advanced writing skills and supervise writing of others
- Lead junior staff by mentoring, motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable, and overseeing their professional development
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (public relations, communications, English, journalism, advertising, business) or equivalent work experience
- At least five years’ experience in communications or public relations, preferably in an agency setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one-two years of experience working with technology clients, with experience in product-focused comms
- Have experience functioning as a daily client contact
- Able to delegate work effectively while overseeing short-term and longer-term/complex assignments
- Have relationships with tech, business, and lifestyle media (relationships with tech YouTubers, TikTokers, Redditors a plus)
- Excellent storytelling skills, and ability to provide sound, level-appropriate media counsel with all levels of client contacts
- Have a deep understanding of and track record of working on product-focused launch strategies
- Ability to create integrated earned media strategies that will resonate across platforms and diverse media channels
- Have written strategic media plans and a variety of media materials with limited oversight
- Willingness to travel
- Proven account management and team leadership skills
- Keen interest and high awareness of current events and pop culture
- Solutions-oriented and collaborative mindset
