What you will do
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for creating the strategy and managing complex execution across multiple customer accounts. This leader will be responsible for annual sales of 3.5M units annually, for managing a P&L exceeding $300M revenue and delivering ~$50M in commercial margin. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans to grow key accounts by an additional $20M in commercial margin over the next 4 years. The position will lead LTA negotiation strategy and annual pricing negotiations to expand profitably while reducing risk to Clarios. The Senior Account Manager will drive new growth opportunities within Clarios’ existing business model, identifying and developing new customers required to exceed an annual growth target of ~250K units. This role includes the direct supervision of two (2) team members, ensuring their alignment to assigned customer goals and priorities.
How you will do it
- Develop a 3-year growth plan and lead the development of overall customer sales, strategic customer planning, and ensure successful execution.
- Negotiate customer sales contracts and prices.
- Provide sales leadership with effective budgeting, cost management, and resource utilization.
- Attract, engage, and develop sales and cross-functional account team members to focus on achieving customer objectives.
- Maintain frequent and regular contact with customer leadership management for maximizing promotional activities and expanding Clarios' share of their total battery volume.
- Develop specialized programs to acquire incremental volume with emphasis on pricing, inventory planning, billing, product line variation, warranty adjustments, and other promotional considerations.
- Drive corporate objectives and priorities, including increasing the focus on customer and market intelligence and delivering value-added solutions.
- Provide key input regarding customer expectations and satisfaction.
- Ensure overall customer satisfaction in the development and launch of new customer products.
- Partner closely with demand planning to provide customer insights regarding inventory strategies, marketing initiatives, and market share assumptions to support the monthly forecasting process.
- Lead and support divisional efforts in continuous improvement and quality improvement.
- Maintain anticipated free cash flow targets by ensuring prompt payment by customers.
- Supervise activities and deliverables of two external field team members.
- Maintain and build Clarios' industry-leading reputation and image.
- Approximately 25% domestic travel is required
What we look for
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related major is required. An MBA or MA is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of commercial business experience (e.g., Consultative Sales, Category Management, Marketing, Strategy, Commercial Finance).
- Superior analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly grasp and interpret information pertinent to the growth of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results individually and through others; ability to achieve and maintain business profitability.
- Ability to identify opportunities/threats and develop and execute appropriate strategic and tactical business solutions.
Preferred
- Experience in the automotive aftermarket parts business, specifically automotive batteries, is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of various selling channels (Retail – DIY, Service- DIFM, Warehouse Distributor, Commercial) is preferred.
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen with strong P&L orientation.
