Job Description
This role will be responsible for creating new equipment finance relationships and maintaining existing bank relationships. New business is developed through direct sales origination with generally middle market companies, both private and publicly traded, in the areas of manufacturing, distribution/warehouse, construction, aviation, trucking, marine, equipment lease houses, etc. Transaction sizes range from $3 million to $30 million. Larger transactions will require syndication strategy. The average transaction size is $5 - $10 million.
Product offerings include traditional loans, guidance lines of credit, progress payment, capital/finance leases.
Essential Functions
Initiate and identify new business opportunities which may include existing customers as well as rigorous prospecting for new clients through cold calls, COI and in-person presentations
Arrange personal meetings with prospects to explain Northwest’s products, rates and terms of finance agreements
Achieve and exceed volume quota by effectively targeting, qualifying and closing equipment financing transactions on a direct deal basis. Brokered transactions are not preferred.
Use industry insight, analytical skills, product knowledge and communication skills to identify, develop, activate and maintain customer relationships
Structure, design, propose and close viable finance transactions
Manage customer relationships on an on-going basis by monitoring and being proactive with respect to changing dynamics of both market conditions and competition
Effective communication attributes to communicate deal structure and customer to leadership and credit.
Knowledge of Excel and effective use of a CRM
Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
Work as part of a team and effectively add to a performance culture
Work with on-site equipment
Education + Experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related
5+ years of equipment finance origination experience
Ability to travel to customer sites
