Senior Account Executive

We have an exciting opportunity to join Amadeus Eastern Africa as a Senior Account Executive. This is a rare and excellent opportunity to contribute towards sustaining and growing Amadeus’ market share and revenue.

In this role, you will influence decisions, anticipate dependencies and consequences in complex scenarios, contribute to transversal projects, propose improvements to processes and be accountable for own and team commitments.​ You will report directly to the General Manager.

We are particularly interested in a dynamic and results‑driven professional who is ready to take on a new challenge and is passionate about our organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of commercial acumen, regional experience, and a collaborative mindset, along with the following:

  • Proven experience with Amadeus IT product range, or in IT solution sales, account management, or a similar role within a commercial/business environment

  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple accounts and driving sales opportunities to closure

  • Experience supporting and managing business across multiple countries within Eastern Africa

  • Background in the private sector, preferably within multinational organizations

  • Strong financial awareness with the ability to understand and support commercial decision-making

  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, effectively prioritize competing demands, and consistently deliver results under pressure

  • Highly target‑driven, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding performance goals

  • A collaborative team player with a positive, proactive mindset and strong interpersonal skills

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop existing accounts for the assigned customers and monitor satisfaction and propose solutions to improve customer profitability/efficiency.

  • Identify new business opportunities, and take ownership until closing negotiations (internal and external)

  • Ensure that new products, product enhancements and overall solutions are developed and implemented within the agreed time frame.

  • Execute & process the operational requests received from customers.

  • Ensure that customers make best use of Amadeus technology & that the established performance, productivity & service metric are achieved.

  • Ensure that customers are informed in a timely manner of new product & solution releases.

  • Help resolve product & technical questions/ issues if raised to the Global Customer Services or Account Managers.

  • Support the business, functional & technical consultants to deliver key customer business processes & IT review and solution enhancement recommendations.

  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations to secure business case approvals for renewals and market-share development.

  • Collaborate with Pre-sales team and  Customer Success Team to ensure all customer needs are addressed.

As a Senior Account Executive you are expected to:

  • Identify with, and be motivated by, the values and objectives of Amadeus

  • Think strategically, look for innovative solutions, provide constructive challenge and be willing to contribute to the success of the organization

  • Work collaboratively with other departments such as Finance, IT, Marketing among other departments.

Other requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working as an Account/Sales Manager
