THE JOB / Senior Account Executive, Endurance (Technology Client)

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days week in office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT or New York, NY.***

Octagon is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join our team as a playmaker at the intersection of sports, entertainment and experiential marketing.

In this role you will work closely with the Group Director and Senior Vice President of Client Services, along with key players on the client team and their property partners, to deliver our Technology Client’s marathon and endurance running partnerships in North America!

We’re looking for a strong Senior Account Executive who can keep the client’s endurance portfolio organized and manage a wide range of sponsorship assets.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading and activating sponsorship programs, tremendous organization skills and an interest in global sports. The SAE will be a main point of contact for our client to support their yearlong strategic planning, sponsorship property management and activation of partnership benefits.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Support day-to-day execution of a global technology client’s sponsorship portfolio, focused on endurance sports
  • Develop, coordinate and execute integrated sponsorship activations, events and campaigns utilizing the client’s sponsorship assets
  • Manage weekly status calls and other key meetings with both internal and external constituents, including crafting agendas, driving discussion and providing recap summaries
  • Assist with on-site planning and post-event recaps for client’s events and activations
  • Ensure various agency partners are aligned and informed on timelines, as well as keep projects moving alongside target timelines and budgets
  • Support and grow key relationships with property partners and lead contract fulfillment tracking and approvals
  • Support global metrics tracking and reporting, including quarterly and year-long recaps and reports
  • Ability to support research on sports and technology trends
  • Help ideate activation plans for marathon portfolio assets
  • Support account billing processes including activation budgets and vendor payments

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of experience in sponsorship marketing and/or event marketing industries
  • A background in client-facing roles with increasing responsibility
  • Strong project & budget management and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities on strict timelines
  • Experience working with external partners and vendors to create exceptional programming
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a positive and collaborative team while also able to solve problems effectively and independently
  • A strong sense of the sports partnership landscape and the ability to provide timely recommendations
  • Exceptional work ethic, strong desire to succeed, and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication, writing and client service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Interest/experience in technology, marathons or running industry are beneficial but not required
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel amount: Low 0-15%

This position pays $50,000, is overtime-eligible and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
