Ruder Finn’s Corporate Strategy Practice is seeking an experienced, energetic Senior Account Executive (SAE) to support a portfolio of clients spanning technology, healthcare and luxury brands. This role offers the opportunity to work with senior executives, industry leaders, and emerging companies shaping the future of business and technology.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic thinker, and media relations professional who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment. They are intellectually curious, proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple workstreams while delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a client-facing role across multiple client accounts, supporting client communications, media relations, executive visibility, and thought leadership initiatives.

  • Develop and execute proactive media relations programs, including media list development, pitching, relationship building, and securing coverage across business, technology, trade, and industry media.

  • Draft and edit high-quality communications materials including press releases, media pitches, executive bylines, briefing documents, speaking abstracts, client correspondence, reports, and presentations.

  • Support executive thought leadership programs, including content development, media strategy, speaking opportunities, and executive positioning initiatives.

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify media opportunities, industry trends, competitive intelligence, and emerging issues relevant to clients.

  • Help develop strategic recommendations and communications plans that address client challenges and business objectives.

  • Manage project timelines, agendas, meeting recaps, activity reports, status trackers, and other account management responsibilities.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, media contacts, and internal team members.

  • Support new business initiatives and contribute to agency growth opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience at a PR agency or in an in-house role

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting media relations and earned media programs.

  • Experience developing media materials, executive communications, thought leadership content, or strategic communications programs.

  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly learn new industries, technologies, and business topics.

  • Curiosity and comfort with integrating AI tools into communications and workflows

  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and communications research tools.

The anticipated salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $67,000 – $80,000. The salary of the applicant selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, internal equity, geography, relevant years of experience, certifications, skills, abilities of the selected applicant, and other job-related qualifications. In addition, a range of medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available by the company.
