Senior Ab Initio Engineer (SQL and Cloud Technologies)

Synechron is seeking a skilled Ab Initio Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. This role is integral to developing and maintaining our state-of-the-art Institutional Banking Data Platform (IDP), which supports critical business functions including Regulatory Reporting, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Quants, and Trader Surveillance. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in Ab Initio and other technologies to ensure platform stability, drive process innovation, and contribute to Synechron's strategic objectives.

• Required:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio GDE, including Express>It, Control Centre, Continuous>flow
  • Proficiency in SQL and shell scripting languages
  • Experience with XML, JSON, and Web API
  • Experience with Batch and Streaming based integrations

• Preferred:

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as TeamCity, Artifactory, Octopus, Jenkins, SonarQube
  • Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, RDS
  • Experience with Snowflake and Apache Kafka
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible, Packer, and Terraform
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus/Grafana

• Ensure the stability and performance of the Institutional Banking Data Platform (IDP)
• Provide technical support and perform maintenance for complex applications
• Drive innovative process improvements that enhance business value
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new features and functionalities
• Champion a culture of quality, excellence, and openness within the team
• Identify and mitigate potential risks proactively

• Programming Languages:

  • Essential: Proficiency in SQL, Shell Scripting
  • Preferred: Familiarity with other scripting languages

• Databases/Data Management:

  • Essential: Experience with relational databases and data integration
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Snowflake

• Cloud Technologies:

  • Preferred: AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, RDS)

• Frameworks and Libraries:

  • Essential: Ab Initio GDE

• Development Tools and Methodologies:

  • Preferred: CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins, etc.)

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role
• Proven track record of maintaining and supporting complex applications
• Experience with Ab Initio and related technologies

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the IDP
• Collaborate with teams to develop and implement new features
• Maintain platform stability through routine maintenance activities
• Stay updated with the latest technological advancements to enhance platform capabilities
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives

• Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Equivalent experience may be considered

• Certifications:

  • Certifications in relevant technologies are a plus
