The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Roads Design Engineer with expertise in 12D software to join our dynamic team in designing and delivering innovative infrastructure projects across Australia.
In this role you will be responsible for providing design solutions for roadworks, highways, and other transportation-related infrastructure projects, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key accountabilities for the position:
Road Design & Planning: Prepare and manage designs for roads, highways, and other infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, local regulations, and client specifications.
Use of 12D Software: Utilize 12D Software to create, modify, and analyze 3D road designs, including alignment, cross-sections, earthworks, and drainage.
Technical Reporting: Develop or collaborate in the development of detailed technical reports, design calculations, and documentation related to road design projects.
Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure the quality and accuracy of designs by reviewing plans, specifications, and calculations to mitigate potential risks and issues.
Identify design and construction challenges and provide innovative and cost-effective solutions.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements, address concerns, and provide updates on design progress.
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in road design engineering, with proven expertise in 12D Software for road design and drafting.
Road Design Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in road geometry, drainage and earthworks design.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian road design standards, guidelines, and regulations, including AUSTROADS, State and local council requirements.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring successful project completion within scope and budget.
