Job Description

SEMCO Energy offers meaningful summer employment opportunities to qualified students, tailored to the company's business needs. Placement is determined based on the student's academic standing, qualifications, career goals, and prior relevant work experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of Information Services and Technology.
  • Develop skills in working with diverse personalities.
  • Assist with the deployment of new computer equipment.
  • Support software installations.
  • Help collect information for computer equipment inventory.
  • Aid in the disposal of old computer hardware and equipment.
  • Other IT/digital support duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Currently enrolled as a part-time or full-time college student. Preference will be given to those studying Information Technology.
  • Age between 18 and 25.
  • Ability to work from May 5, 2025, through early/mid-August 2025.
  • Available to work onsite from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, at our Maysville, Michigan location.
  • Possess a valid driver's license for at least one year.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows.
  • Keen interest in Information Technology.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

The hourly pay rate for Summer 2025 is $14 to $17 per hour, depending on academic rank and returning student status.
