SEMCO - Compliance Summer Student
SEMCO Energy is proud to offer meaningful summer employment opportunities to qualified students, tailored to the company's business needs. Placement is determined based on the student's academic standing, qualifications, career goals, and prior relevant work experience.
This role will assist our Compliance team with regulatory support, documentation organization, and audits. You'll also help develop and update Operations & Maintenance Procedures, gather field data, and create presentations, including data visualizations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist team in providing overall compliance support to ensure company operations meet regulatory standards.
- Assist the compliance team by providing administrative and project-specific documentation organization.
- Assist in preparing and conducting internal and external audits.
- Provide assistance developing and updating existing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Procedures and Standards.
- Assist with gathering and entering field data.
- Assist with preparing presentations, including data visualizations.
- Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the natural gas industry.
- Develop skills in working with diverse personalities.
- Other office support duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- Currently enrolled as a part-time or full-time college student.
- Ability to work from early May through mid-August 2025.
- Available to work onsite from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, at our Port Huron Headquarters, Michigan location.
- Possess a valid driver's license for at least one year.
- Excellent technical skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (data visualizations).
- Keen interest in Safety, Compliance, and the natural gas industry.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
The hourly pay rate for Summer 2025 is $15 per hour, and $17 per hour for returning students.
