This critical role will support the development and implementation of our SEM strategy while taking ownership of the health and optimisation of our paid search performance. 

The Role 

Based at our Global HQ in East Tāmaki - Auckland. In this cross-functional role, the SEM Specialist will work closely with the SEM Lead, Digital Operations, and Marketing teams to deliver best practices across our SEM activity. You will collaborate with local and international marketing teams to develop and execute top-tier search strategies, ensuring they are strategically aligned with our business objectives. 

On a day-to-day basis, you will manage paid search campaigns, following best practices and taking full ownership of Merchant Centre, MCC, and account infrastructure in Google and Bing. You will define clear KPIs for search campaigns, ensuring tracking systems are in place to measure performance accurately. Additionally, you will conduct in-depth keyword research, monitor budget pacing, and continuously optimize campaigns to drive exceptional results. 

That’s the role, so who are you? 

You will need to have a strong SEM and paid search background, with 2+ years of experience managing large budgets across local and international markets. You will be someone confident in setting up and managing paid search campaigns (including Google Shopping), while proactively making recommendations to improve outcomes and maximize ROI. 

You will be an agile thinker, confident in your abilities to navigate a multifaceted role – from campaign management to data analysis – identifying trends and insights to optimize performance. You will also be results-driven and take a collaborative approach in working with and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver key outcomes. 

On the technical side, strong exposure to Google Ads, Bing Ads, and website analytics tools is essential. Experience with SA360 is a plus but not required as training can be provided. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and Vlookups) and experience with A/B and multivariate testing will be highly advantageous.
