The Segment Marketing Manager leads the strategy, execution, and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns targeting local government markets with an increased focus on special districts and education verticals, including K-12, transit, ports, and utilities. You will own the full marketing lifecycle—campaigns, events, media partnerships, and budget management—while collaborating with sales, business development, customer success, and other internal teams to drive pipeline and bookings. A successful candidate will have deep expertise in marketing within these verticals, strong leadership and collaboration skills, and an ability to find data-driven insights that drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Own the creation, execution, and optimization of multi-channel marketing strategies for local government markets, with an emphasis on special districts and education, aligning with business goals and budget requirements.
- Develop and lead targeted programs and campaigns across various channels, including events, digital, and media partnerships, to generate marketing-originated pipeline and bookings.
- Collaborate closely with sales, business development, customer success, and other internal marketing teams to align efforts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for media partners, managing relationships and negotiating terms to maximize marketing impact.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a shared marketing coordinator, guiding their involvement in campaign execution, sales collaboration, and media partnerships.
- Continuously assess market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to refine marketing strategies.
- Work cross-functionally with customer success and experience solutions teams to integrate marketing efforts into customer-facing initiatives that enhance the customer journey.
- Oversee ABM (account-based marketing) strategies and vertical-based planning to target high-value accounts within the K12 and special district sectors.
- Report program performance metrics to sales, marketing, and executive leadership, focusing on marketing contribution and return on marketing investment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in local government marketing, with at least 3 years in a role focused on education or special districts preferred.
- Proven history of leading successful marketing campaigns that drive pipeline and revenue growth.
- Strong knowledge of marketing tools (e.g., Marketo, Google Analytics, Salesforce) and an ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Experience managing relationships with media partners and allocating budgets to maximize marketing ROI.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to influence internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects.
- Experience in public sector marketing or government services is highly preferred.
- Ability to travel, as necessary.
Potential base salary. Does not include bonus OR commission and benefits.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $80,000-$100,000 USD
