Job Description

Position Summary

The Global Segment Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing support and execution by acting as key interface between Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, and the Commercial Organization. This position is aligned with the Industrial Segment and is globally responsible for driving volume growth of our core LGC Standard’s Product Portfolio as well as pushing market adoption for our strategic NPD’s.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies for the LGC Standard’s industrial market segment. This involves a deep understanding of customer needs and future needs, monitoring competitor activity and proposing organic and inorganic initiatives.
  • Develop value propositions for the industrial market segment, incorporating LGC Standards full product and service offering, and collaborate with Growth Marketing to support the development of marketing activities to drive business performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Management on organic and inorganic roadmaps to support the Industrial Segment strategy.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Business Insights and Commercial Operations to classify customer accounts for the industrial segment and support the governance process and revenue reporting for this segment. 
  • Generate insights and collaborate with Growth Marketing and Sales to deliver targeted marketing and sales action plans, including account-based marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor global market trends and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders and industry vendors.
  • Support and drive key NPD initiatives such as VOC interviews, alpha/beta trials, product launch trainings, and market adoption plans.
  • Manage and/or contribute to specific projects relevant to improving commercial and product execution.
  • Enable development and promotion of materials and tools to drive effective selling into target applications, workflows, and customer personas.
  • Customer intelligence; positioning, SWOT, competitor analysis, application trends
  • Support Commercial in customer site visits, seminars, and participating in tradeshows.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of demonstrated marketing and/or selling experience in the Life Science market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, or related discipline.


Preferred Qualifications

  • M.Sc. or PhD preferred, MBA a plus.
  • Able to network and build and maintain strong relationships, credibility, and trust.
  • Deep understanding of industrial workflows, able to integrate products and techniques in cross-product portfolio capacity.
  • Ability to build on strong technical knowledge base, provide support across segment as needed.
  • Intellectually curious; able to assimilate a broad base of information to quickly understand customer needs and match those to opportunities and corporate capabilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with product groups and regions to develop and support sales plans.
