About GLG

GLG is the world's insight network. We connect decision-makers with the knowledge they need to act with conviction — drawing on a global community of experts across every industry and discipline. Our Financial Services business in ANZ serves some of the most sophisticated investors in the region, spanning listed equities, asset management, and alternative investments.

The Role

We are looking for a Segment Leader to own our Financial Services business across Australia and New Zealand. This is a senior commercial leadership role with full revenue accountability for the segment — overseeing both our Business Development and Servicing teams, and sitting at the intersection of team leadership, client relationships, and revenue growth.

This is not a pure management role. We want someone who leads from the front: driving engagement with senior client stakeholders, opening doors, and setting the standard for how GLG shows up in the market. The right person brings deep credibility in ANZ capital markets — particularly listed equities — and knows how to translate that into a high-performing, cohesive team.

What You'll Own

Commercial Performance

  • Full accountability for segment revenue against annual and long-range growth targets
  • Build and execute a segment business plan that the team understands, believes in, and can execute against
  • Drive pipeline discipline and account management rigour across BD and servicing — using data to identify opportunities, diagnose gaps, and convert activity into revenue
  • Manage a portfolio of flagship client relationships, including multi-million-dollar strategic accounts and cross-regional partnerships

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop both the Business Development and Client Servicing teams — setting clear expectations, managing performance, and creating an environment where people grow
  • Take a player-coach approach: you're in the work alongside the team, not removed from it
  • Build genuine followership — the kind that comes from trust, consistency, and being someone people want to go to battle with
  • Collaborate with regional and global leadership on strategic accounts and cross-market initiatives

Market Presence

  • Be a visible, credible presence in the ANZ financial services market — at the senior level, across buy-side and adjacent networks
  • Bring structured thinking to how GLG positions itself in the listed equities and broader FS ecosystem
  • Champion compliance standards and ensure all client engagement reflects GLG's reputation for integrity

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • 10+ years in financial services, professional services, or information services, with meaningful exposure to the ANZ buy-side — listed equities experience is a significant advantage
  • Demonstrated track record managing and growing multi-million dollar client relationships at the senior stakeholder level
  • Prior experience leading both sales and servicing functions, or a strong readiness to do so
  • Experience in a high-growth, commercially driven environment where structure and accountability were non-negotiable

Leadership

  • A natural player-coach: equally comfortable setting strategy and picking up the phone
  • Track record of building trust and followership — not just managing, but genuinely developing people
  • Brings structure and discipline to a team without bureaucracy; comfortable making data work for the business rather than just reporting on it

Commercial

  • Sharp commercial instincts and the ability to translate market knowledge into revenue opportunity
  • Comfortable negotiating complex, multi-stakeholder deals and navigating long sales cycles
  • A network in the listed equities or broader FS space that opens doors and shortens timelines

Personal

  • High standards, self-driven, and accountable — you hold yourself before you hold others
  • Communicates with clarity and confidence at the executive level
  • Thrives in ambiguity and brings others along with them

Why GLG

This is a rare opportunity to own a high-profile segment within a globally respected firm, at a moment when the ANZ FS market is becoming increasingly central to GLG's regional growth story. You'll have the backing of a global platform, the autonomy to build something meaningful, and a team that's capable of winning.
