SUMMARY

Allegro Microsystems (ALGM) is looking for an Applications Engineer for its Global Marketing and Applications team. The ideal candidate has an electrical, electronic or computer engineering background. Any experience with magnetic sensors or power ICs is a plus.

As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing a strong understanding of the use of Allegro products in customer applications, develop hardware and firmware to support evaluation of Allegro products, provide strategic customer support and develop demonstration platforms, reference designs and other written collateral to solve customer problems for all the Allegro sensors and power IC product lines. You will work closely with Allegro system engineers, marketing personnel, design/test engineers, field sales and field application engineers, in supporting industry leading customers.
Candidate should have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, be highly motivated to drive actions and assignments to closure and ensure best in class support for customers in strategic sub-markets for Industrial and automotive segments. This role will interact with customers on a regular basis and involves international travel. Candidate should have a passion for building relationship and develop collaborations with marketing, sales, distribution, partners and the various sensor and power IC product lines to expand our SAM and grow the revenue.

 

WHAT YOU"LL DO

  • Provide systems and application engineering support to customers working with our sales and field applications engineers
  • Work with other application engineers to develop collateral to outline the value proposition and use of our products in customer products/applications
  • Perform teardowns of customer products to gain better understanding of customer application requirements and develop system level knowledge
  • Champion the generation of technical notes, application notes, simulation tools, demonstration platforms and hardware reference designs required to make customer evaluation and development with our products easy and simple.
  • Engage with lead customers to identify system-level requirements, formulate partnership strategies and drive deeper technical engagements
  • Champion the evaluation of new silicon, including the design of hardware and software for product evaluation on the bench
  • Interact with and provide guidance to product marketing and technical teams to create differentiated products and solutions for the target markets
  • Focus on the no touch customer journey (online support) to deliver superior customer outcomes and superior customer experience
  • Assist with special projects, corporate events, tradeshows, webinar, etc.
  • Focus on execution and results with a high standard for performance

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering
  • Familiarity with laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and voltage and current meters
  • Ability to design and build basic hardware such as printed circuit boards, data acquisition systems, custom cables as well as hand soldered application boards
  • Not mandatory but desirable to have high voltage laboratory experience
  • Programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++
  • Clear written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Experience developing partner networks and/or development communities
  • Ability to travel to visit customers in US, Europe and Asia
