This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Security Professional to influence Telstra’s security strategy and uplift our enterprise security posture with a particular focus on the Telstra Partner Ecosystem. You will work closely with the wider Telstra business stakeholders, Cyber Security technology, operate teams, and strategic industry partners to ensure our solutions meet policy & standard compliance and contractual obligations. You’ll play a vital role in enabling a secure connected future—and grow your career in a supportive, flexible, and highly collaborative team.
What You Will Do
Ensure secure, best-of-breed solutions are implemented across Telstra and our customer IT/IP networks through the secure engagement and provision of Partner Services and Solutions.
Partner with Cyber Security Technology, Operate teams, Industry Partners, and Customer Care teams to deliver robust, policy-aligned security outcomes.
Provide SME Cyber Security advice and recommendations when Telstra is involved in Acquisition, Divestment, RFT / RFP or other Business Partnering opportunities.
Work with Security Vendors, Procurement, Legal, Cyber Assurance, Telstra Business Units and Product Engineering teams to integrate Telstra Security Product solutions into Telstra’s Global Partner Ecosystem to drive ongoing security best practice.
Contribute to security governance, controls alignment, risk assessment and mitigation for major T30 initiatives.
Provide subject matter input into standards, frameworks, and security operating model improvements with a particular focus on Telstra’s partner ecosystem
About You
You are a security professional with strong technical grounding, domain expertise, and the ability to influence and support complex enterprise initiatives.
Core Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in IT, Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related field.
5+ years’ senior experience in IT Security Management, security solution development, or security design within complex IT services environments.
Strong understanding of global and local cybersecurity technologies and emerging security trends.
Experience with issues and risk management, strategic planning, and producing or contributing to security standards and documentation.
Proven ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver aligned, scalable, and secure solutions.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate security requirements to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Additional Skills & Attributes
Strong vendor management capability, including managing deliverables, alignment, and performance.
Excellent negotiation skills when working with external partners, vendors, or stakeholders to achieve optimal security and commercial outcomes.
Ability to operate in governance-focused environments and uplift security maturity across programs.

Comfortable working in flexible environments and contributing to a close‑knit, mission‑driven team.
