As a Security Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our security programs through administrative and technical expertise. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
You’ll collaborate within a fast‑paced, supportive team environment while ensuring accurate credentialing, assisting with personnel security processes, and helping maintain compliance with security policies and regulations.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll support daily security operations by reviewing and processing clearance documentation, assisting applicants through the access authorization process, and capturing digital fingerprints. You’ll help maintain accurate security records, manage badge and visitor control activities, and ensure credentialing materials and equipment are properly maintained. You’ll work with multiple security and government databases, provide guidance and customer support to personnel, and contribute to developing security procedures and training materials. You will also support the Security Manager with inspections, tracking corrective actions, and coordinating ongoing security tasks—all while meeting the requirements to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance.

We'd Love to Hear from Candidates With:
- Highschool or GED diploma
- Proficient computer operating skills, including working knowledge of database operations, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe to process records and generate reports, charts, and presentations.
- Experience with NRC/DOE or other regulating agency procedures, practices, policies and requirements
- Associate degree in a technical or administrative field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with personnel security, access control, or badging/credentialing
Pay
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $X39,080-$65,135. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
