General Summary
The Security Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Security Department. This includes coordinating and managing various security tasks involving security rounds, potential safety and security risks, responding to PERs and all other alarms, parking, monthly safety inspection checks, and insuring that services are provided in an efficient, cost effective and expedient manner. The Security Manager is responsible for maintaining excellent relations with the Members and promoting good department morale.

Essential Job Duties
- Manage the performance of all security staff in maintaining security for Members, staff, buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Responsible for recruitment of staff, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance all security employees. Partner with Human Resources to discipline staff when necessary.
- Manager staff to insure scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings are made to maintain a secure environment.
- Respond to all alarms.
- Report items needing repair, housekeeping or maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
- Minimum experience of five years of security, military, police, emergency services or any combination of with a minimum of three years’ experience as a supervisor.
- Must possess current and valid driver’s license and personal driving record consistent with the requirements of The Cedars Driver Selection Policy.

Part-time employees earn paid time off on a prorated basis. All employees are eligible for the 401(k) and employer match if they work 1,000 hours in a year.

What We Do
Residences at Vantage Point is a nonprofit Life Plan retirement community for adults age 60 and older. It offers independent living, assisted living, memory support, and comprehensive nursing care, with wellness and health care integrated into community life. Residents can choose between an all-inclusive LifeCare Plan and a fee-for-service arrangement.
