The Security Department for Vantage Data Centers is very hands on. In most cases, we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all networking and server hardware. We also work closely with partner VARs to learn about the latest technology changes so that we can make informed purchase decisions. We are always looking for ways to strike the best balance between technology, performance, and cost. Vantage Security Department also participates in designing each of our new data center building’s security infrastructure. • Manage local contract security organization

• Manage and coordinate vendor service calls and preventative maintenance inspections

• Train personnel in physical security procedures and use of physical security equipment.

• Prepare, maintain, and update physical security procedures, physical security system drawings or related documentation.

• Monitor and maintain data center's Security systems to ensure that all customer's security needs are met and functional with maximum uptime.

• Enforcing the safety regulations in place at the facility

• Directing, informing, and escorting visitors, customers and suppliers

• Maintain order and prevent undue unrest, offence, or theft of property

• Control access and enforce the facility's internal and outdoor traffic regulations for staff, visitors, users and suppliers, as well as all applicable regulations

• Make periodic rounds (physical and camera) to detect any anomalies

• Generate reports as needed for VDC Audits and as required by customers.

• Create and modify panel configurations, door contacts/inputs, clearance levels, etc

• Conduct physical security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities related to existing physical security systems.

• Collaborate with other departments during system design, implementation and commissioning of New VDC buildings to ensure projects are completed per VDC standards and all timelines are met.

• Create, Manage and maintain access levels for all Vantage data centers.

• Retrieve video footage as requested or required for legal, law enforcement or operational review.

• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair as needed.

• May perform simple installs and in-house projects, including but not limited to installation, programming and testing of access control, video, intercoms and Key Management System.

• Uses solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

• Update and maintain spare parts using tracking sheet

• Provides technical support to end users and field labor when applicable.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

• 3+ years of experience with Access Control Systems (ACS), Video Surveillance System (VSS) required

• 2+ years of experience with Intercom System, Biometric system and Key management system required.

• Experience with Genetec Access Control Systems, Genetec Video Surveillance System is preferred

• Ability to obtain Genetec (SC-STC-001-5.9, SC-OTC-001-5.9, and SC-ETC-001-5.9) within 3 months of hire.

• Experience with Commend Intercom System, Traka Key Control, and Bioconnect is preferred

• Able to plan, organize, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate internally with team members as well as externally with vendors and other service providers.

• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office 365

•   Fluent in English (oral and written)

• Travel is expected to be less than 25%, but may be higher during construction projects
