Security Engineer

The Security Engineer plays a key role in supporting and maintaining physical security operations at HERE Technologies’ Berlin office and additional company locations. This role focuses on managing access control systems, primarily Lenel OnGuard, while supporting CCTV, alarms, and visitor management systems. The position ensures secure, reliable, and compliant physical security operations and supports security projects, incident response, and vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage the Lenel OnGuard access control system, including:
  • Creating and modifying badges
  • Updating access rights and user profiles
  • Performing basic system troubleshooting
• Support daily physical security operations at the Berlin office and assist other company sites as required
• Monitor and help maintain security systems such as CCTV, alarm systems, and visitor management platforms
• Respond to security incidents, access issues, and operational escalations in a timely manner
• Coordinate with external vendors for system maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
• Assist with physical security projects, including:
  • Installation of new security equipment
  • Security setup for new offices or site expansions
• Maintain accurate security records, logs, access reports, and basic documentation
• Support compliance with company security policies and procedures

• +5 years of experience in physical security, access control, or corporate security operations
• Hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard access control systems
• Working knowledge of physical security technologies, including CCTV and alarm systems
• Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and system-related security issues
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for record-keeping and reporting
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to security incidents

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience supporting multi-site or global physical security environments
• Familiarity with visitor management systems
• Vendor coordination or project support experience
• Valid German driving license
• Basic understanding of security compliance or audits
