Security Administrators perform the following functions:

  • Serve as a frontline resource for the IT Security ticket queue by reviewing, triaging, documenting, and resolving routine security requests, alerts, access changes, and operational tasks.
  • Remediate routine tickets and corrective actions opened by the Information Security team, including documenting steps taken and escalating items that require senior IT Security review.
  • Assist with the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned IT Security platforms, including identity, endpoint, email, web, DLP, cloud, and monitoring technologies.
  • Support user access and authentication activities, including account security tasks, MFA support, security group changes, access review follow-up, and related identity requests.
  • Perform initial review and validation of security alerts, system notifications, and operational issues according to established IT Security procedures.
  • Assist with assigned IT Security projects by coordinating tasks, tracking action items, testing solutions, maintaining documentation, and supporting project deliverables.
  • Partner with other departments, vendors, and business teams to complete remediation activities, resolve security-related requests, and support secure operations.
  • Maintain accurate procedures, knowledgebase articles, remediation notes, implementation records, and operational documentation for assigned responsibilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve ticket handling, documentation, recurring processes, and day-to-day IT Security workflows.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion while remaining compliant with well-defined limits, procedures, and security guidelines.
  • Provide technical solutions in support of MIDFLORIDA’s electronic services.
  • Communicate professionally and efficiently with all departments, vendors, and internal teams while promoting collaboration and service excellence.
  • Exhibit a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, attention to detail, and professionalism at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • 3+ year of relevant Information Technology experience is preferred; entry-level candidates with applicable education, certifications, or technical aptitude may be considered.
  • Foundational understanding of IT Security concepts such as least privilege, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, email security, web security, DLP and incident response support.
  • Experience with Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft/Office 365, endpoint management, identity platforms, ticketing systems, or enterprise security tools is preferred.
  • Strong customer service, analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage routine tickets, assigned tasks, project support activities, and shifting priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic project coordination skills, including tracking action items, documenting updates, following up with stakeholders, and supporting deliverables.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Relevant IT or security certifications such as Network+, Security+, Microsoft fundamentals, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
  • An Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, cybersecurity, information technology, or another computer-related field is preferred.

Skills Required

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in management information systems, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related computer field
