BBH is seeking an entrepreneurial professional to originate, execute, and manage asset-based investment opportunities. The role involves overseeing the entire origination and underwriting process, including identifying lenders, preparing investment reviews, conducting cash flow modeling, structuring and negotiating terms, and monitoring ongoing investments.

 

BBH’s Credit Alternatives investment unit focuses on alternative opportunities in swiftly growing segments of the credit markets, including asset-backed securities (ABS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and business development companies (BDCs).  Its experienced investment team is a lead investor in all of these segments.  The Credit Alternatives investment team manages over $12b AUM, which are a key constituent of BBH’s structured fixed income strategy (on behalf of dozens of SMA clients and multiple commingled funds) as well as BBH’s taxable fixed income strategies. In addition to debt investments, the team is also an active investor in difficult to source, higher return equity and residual investments that are in high demand from alternatives investors.  The team is entrepreneurial in its search for value, leverages its deep relationships with hundreds of issuers and underwriters, and commits to the highest level of integrity in its analysis and investment process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and originate private asset-based investment opportunities,

  • Lead and manage all aspects of transaction execution, including relationships with lenders, deal structuring, investment analysis, cash flow modeling, overseeing documentation, and the rating agency process.

  • Coordinate with internal and external transaction parties including issuers, lawyers, trustees, accountants, bankers, rating agencies, investors.

  • Monitor the ongoing performance of investments.

  • Negotiate and structure warehouse facilities, creditor agreements, and term financing to ensure appropriate investor protections.

 

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 7 years of experience

  • Experience with term securitizations and warehouse lending facilities

  • Experience with wholesale loan purchases and forward flow arrangements

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including Intex and structural modeling experience.

  • Expertise in underwriting new investments and monitoring existing portfolios.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate term securitizations, creditor agreements, and structure warehouse lending facilities.

  • Experience evaluating a broad range of industries including but not limited to consumer and commercial loan receivables.

  • Experience evaluating a broad range of Non-Traditional Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) and receivables financing including, but not limited to Consumer loans, Commercial loans, and/or Infrastructure financing.

  • Prior engagements with rating agencies to facilitate securitization processes.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Existing relationships with asset originators and financials sponsors. 

  • Investment experience in securitization is a plus

  • Curiosity to explore novel assets for securitization and novel structures.

   

Salary Range

$130,000-$170,000

BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
