The Role
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an M&A Analyst to join their team in Paris and work closely with industry coverage and M&A teams in U.S. and Continental Europe.
The role involves performing the full range of analyst responsibilities within an M&A environment, including preparing client coverage materials, supporting transaction origination, and executing M&A mandates.
The team operates on a sector-agnostic basis with a focus on complex cross-border transactions between U.S. and Europe. The team is expected to grow in the coming years to support increasing cross-border deal activity.
In this role, you will:
  • Perform the full set of responsibilities expected from an M&A Analyst in a team comprising of Interns, Analysts, Associates, Vice Presidents, Executive Directors and Managing Directors.
  • Conduct financial analysis, including comparable transactions and public company analysis.
  • Build detailed financial models for valuation and transaction-related purposes.
  • Prepare marketing documents, including pitch materials, confidential offering memoranda and management presentations.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial and industry due diligence to assess transaction risks and return parameters.
  • Produce sector and industry analysis, including market trends, growth drivers, and competitive dynamics.
  • Support senior bankers in relationship management, and interaction with existing and prospective clients.
  • Manage transaction logistics, such as organising data rooms and preparing working group lists.
  • Work with transparency, collaboration, and professionalism, adhering to the highest ethical standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Diploma with a Finance focus from a Tier 1 business school / university in France / Europe.
  • Prior experience in investment banking, either in product group or sector/country coverage.
  • Sound analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to assume significant responsibility.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and financial databases as such as FactSet, Refinitiv, and Mergermarket.
  • Sound quantitative and analytical skills with solid knowledge of accounting and valuation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working both independently and as part of a team, coordinating with internal stakeholders in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Ability to operate in a demanding, high-performance, and collaborative environment, including a willingness to work long hours when required.
  • High personal motivation, strong interest in a career in financial services, remarkable interpersonal skills, and broad intellectual capacity.
  • Team oriented mindset, acting with strong ethics and integrity at all times.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in investment banking, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: professional work, training, military service, or education.
  • Fluency in both French and English. German or Italian speaking skills a plus.
Job Expectations:
You must have the relevant AMF certification and must at all times remain fit and proper to perform your role, and this will be assessed on at least an annual basis.

  • Élaborer des modèles financiers détaillés à des fins d'évaluation et dans le cadre de transactions.
  • Rédiger des documents de marketing, notamment l'élaboration de présentations dans le cadre d'origination de mandats, de mémorandums d'informations confidentiels, de management presentations et de teasers.
  • Réaliser une diligence financière et sectorielle détaillée et approfondie afin d'évaluer les bénéfices et les risques liés à la transaction.
  • Réaliser des analyses sectorielles et industrielles, notamment sur les tendances de marché, les moteurs de croissance et la dynamique concurrentielle.
  • Soutenir les banquiers seniors dans la gestion de la relation client et les interactions avec les clients actuels et potentiels.
  • Gérer la logistique des transactions, notamment l'organisation de datarooms et la préparation de working group lists.
  • Travailler dans un esprit de transparence, de collaboration et de professionnalisme, en respectant les normes éthiques les plus strictes.
Qualifications requises :
  • Diplôme avec une spécialisation en finance d'une école de commerce ou d'une université de premier rang en France ou en Europe.
  • Expérience préalable en services bancaires d'investissement, soit au sein d'une équipe Fusions-Acquisitions, soit en couverture sectorielle ou géographique.
  • Solides capacités d'analyse et de communication, souci du détail exceptionnel et volonté d'assumer des responsabilités importantes.
  • Maîtrise d'Excel, PowerPoint, Word et des bases de données financières telles que FactSet, Refinitiv et Mergermarket.
  • Solides capacités quantitatives et analytiques, ainsi qu'une connaissance approfondie de la comptabilité et des méthodes de valorisation.
  • Aptitude démontrée à travailler aussi bien de manière autonome qu'en équipe, en assurant la coordination avec les interlocuteurs internes dans un environnement où le temps est un facteur déterminant.
  • Sens de l'organisation exceptionnel et capacité avérée à gérer plusieurs dossiers simultanément avec efficacité.
