Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Operations Manager within the Brokerage Tax division as part of Wealth and Investment Management Operations. This team is responsible for supporting critical tax reporting, withholding, filing, tax notice processing, and production activities while maintaining a strong focus on operational risk management, regulatory compliance, and service excellence.
The Securities Operations Manager will provide leadership and oversight of daily operations, drive process governance, strengthen risk and control frameworks, support major business initiatives, and develop team capabilities through coaching, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration. This role will also identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational scalability while ensuring readiness for audits, tax season deliverables, and strategic business changes. In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop one or more specialized customer service and operations functional teams within Operations area with complex and risk in functional area
- Develop strategies to improve staffing processes, ensure specialized functions meet regulatory guidelines in support of risk management and compliance
- Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated within the Operations area
- Work independently on moderately complex issues and projects
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development and escalates issues to more experienced management
- Provide training, performance, evaluation and coaching of less experienced team
- Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives and operations of functional area and team to meet business objectives
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures for operation functions with low to moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
- Provide responsibility for budget and financial performance
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Operations
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
- 5+ years of Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- 5+ years managing global operations, preferably in Tax Operations
- 2+ years' experience in risk management, including RCSA, control testing, and issue management
- Proven ability in partnering with various stakeholders in a complex environment, including internal peers as well as third party vendors
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and navigate cross team to meet the deliverable needs
- Skilled at managing complex projects and initiatives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills targeted to the audience
- Strong record of delivering results and decision-making in complex problems
- Transformational leader leveraging technology for efficiency
- Successful completion of bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or other related field
- Ability to work a hybrid in-office schedule
- Willingness to work on-site at stated location
