Background & Purpose of the Job
We are looking for Seasonal Light Labour employees at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry's, Magnum, Klondike, and Popsicle!!
The Seasonal Light Labour position works during the factory’s peak production season and can expect to work ~5 months out of the calendar year (approximately early April to end of August). You will also have the opportunity to be recalled for the following year.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do

Performing all job functions in the safety manner possible.

Performing all assigned steps in the production and packaging of product, including:
-
Observing quality of product and notifying appropriate personnel of potential quality problems

Ensuring compliance with all sanitary procedures and policies

Observing and correcting product position to ensure safe and undamaged mechanical processing and/or wrapping

Packing finished product per count, assortment, and arrangement specifications
What You’ll Need To Succeed

Ability to work various 8 hours, weekday shifts as well as weekend shift comprising of Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12 hr shifts

Ability to learn all functions of assigned production lines in a quick fashion, as dictated by the production rate of the specific line.

Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.

Previous experience in a production environment and/or food production or handling is preferred.

High School graduate or GED equivalent.
