Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Search System Administrator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our Lucidworks Fusion, Apache Solr infrastructure and Coveo Search Configuration. You will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our search and data indexing platform. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Linux/Windows, experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and a passion for search technology.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Install, configure, and maintain Lucidworks Fusion and Apache Solr instances across different environments (development, testing, production) deployed in a Kubernetes environment
- Set up and manage Solr collections, shards, and replicas.
- Monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Optimize Solr configuration and indexing processes for maximum efficiency.
- Implement caching strategies to improve search response times.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and implement solutions.
- Experience deploying and managing Fusion/Solr in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- 3+ years of experience administering Apache Solr in a production environment.
- 2+ years of experience with Lucidworks Fusion.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Experience working with Kubernetes stacks
- Experience with scripting languages like Bash or Python.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Ansible).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Java development.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
