The Role

As the first Sales Development Manager at Overjet, you will play a crucial role in building out our sales force as well as driving our sales efforts and expanding our customer base. You will be responsible for hiring, leading and managing a team of Sales Development Representatives, developing sales strategies, and executing them to achieve company sales targets. Your expertise in sales, dentistry, and AI technology will be essential in promoting and selling our innovative products and solutions to dental practices and organizations. We are open to candidates in the Bay Area, Salt Lake City, Austin, and New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Quarterly Quotas: We have a beat and raise culture at Overjet. You will be responsible for hitting, beating, and raising quarterly targets.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales development team. Set clear goals and targets, provide guidance and support, and foster a collaborative and motivated sales development culture.
  • Sales Strategy & Playbook: Develop comprehensive sales development strategies aligned with company objectives, market trends, and customer needs. Identify target markets, segments, and key accounts. Define positioning and competitive differentiation strategies to drive top of funnel. 
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, dental professionals, and dental organizations. Understand customer pain points, requirements, and feedback to refine product offerings and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, potential partnerships, and emerging customer needs. Leverage insights to shape sales strategies.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and customer success, to align sales efforts with overall company objectives. Provide feedback and input to internal stakeholders regarding customer requirements, competitive positioning, and market trends.
  • Sales Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior management. Communicate sales performance, pipeline status, and key insights to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in sales with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
  • At least 2 years of experience selling into SMBs, ideally in a new category or hyper-competitive industry
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful sales strategies
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with customers, key stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive sales performance and identify business opportunities.
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales productivity tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical, and mission focused environment
