The Role

At GrowthBook, we are building an open source feature flagging and A/B testing platform. If you love the engineering challenges faced by large tech companies, but want the ownership and flexibility of a small startup, then GrowthBook is for you.

We are a small team, distributed across the US, and backed by YCombinator and Khosla Ventures. We're helping companies release code quickly and confidently while measuring the impact of what they launch.

As an open source company, we are focused on bottom-up adoption and building a product that engineers love to use. We have an amazing open source community on Slack that gives us constant feedback, feature requests, and ideas. GrowthBook is already used in production by thousands of companies and we're just getting started!

We have SDKs in 11+ languages, across back-end, front-end, and mobile. As an SDK Engineer, you would be responsible for implementing new features in these SDKs as well as working with our open source community to fix bugs and improve the developer experience.

You will work closely with the rest of the engineering team as we design new features. We don't just want to throw you a spec at the end of a project and say "implement this"; we want you to be involved from the very beginning. We care deeply about creating a great developer experience, and as an SDK Engineer, you would bring a unique and valuable perspective to the table.

We don't expect you to be an expert (or even proficient) with every programming language we support, so knowing how and when to bring in others to help is going to be critical. You will also need to understand what makes a good developer experience and have an eye for high quality code. This might involve managing contractors or consulting with language experts as needed.

  • Proficient with JavaScript and at least 1-2 other programming languages, the more languages the better
  • Fluent English and good communication skills
  • Startup experience or interest working in a small company
  • Contributed to an open-source project
  • Experience managing or working with contractors

  • Competitive salary and employee-friendly equity in an early-stage fast-growing startup
  • Unlimited PTO (that we actually encourage you to use)
  • 401k with company matching
  • Top-of-the-line insurance (US only): medical, dental, vision, mental health, and more
  • Paid parental leave
  • Generous work-from-home stipend and IT budget
  • Remote-first company with regular off-sites in exciting locations

GrowthBook is an equal opportunity employer, and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for all employees.

We regret that we cannot sponsor new US employment visas at this time, although we can make exceptions for H1B transfers.

What We Do

GrowthBook is an open source feature flagging and A/B testing platform to help companies release code and measure the impact with their own data. Our platform gives any company the power of a customized release and A/B testing solution like those used by Netflix, Pinterest, Uber, etc. GrowthBook is an in-house flagging and experimentation platform you don't have to build.

Integration:
GrowthBook is warehouse native - we tie into your existing data infrastructure. We support most SQL based data sources, and even Google Analytics and Mixpanel. You can A/B test anywhere you can get data: web, mobile app, ML, email, etc.

Effectiveness:
Tools built based on best practices. Our SDKs support modern development processes, and are absurdly fast and easy to use. You can create a common metric store with SQL or YML. Our statistics engine is robust and understandable by non technical folks. We also give data teams full transparency into results- you can even export results as SQL or as a Jupyter notebook.

Documentation:
Searchable and shareable library of past tests. Capture institutional knowledge gained from experimentation. No more lost conversations or searching through Google Docs.

Data & Security:
User data never leaves the companies data infrastructure- you can even host it yourself. Compliant with PCI Data Security Standards
