Role Overview
66degrees is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior QA Engineer with 4–7 years of experience to join our dynamic Software Engineering team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of modern cloud-native applications. You will build and execute comprehensive test strategies across UI and API layers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business and functional requirements into clear, maintainable test plans and cases.
- Design and perform functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Cucumber.
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, and Newman.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies—sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Log, track, and validate defects in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects using tools like JIRA, Zephyr, or TestRail.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in manual and automation testing across web, API, and mobile platforms.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and Agile practices.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Appium, TestNG, and Cucumber (BDD).
- Proficiency in test scripting using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with REST API testing (Postman, REST Assured).
- Familiarity with backend testing, SQL, and database tools like MS SQL Server.
- Expertise in test planning, estimation, automation strategy, and reporting.
- Competency in Git, Jenkins, and Maven for version control and build automation.
- Exposure to cloud platforms—GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
- Exposure to cross-browser/device testing platforms (Browser Stack, Sauce Labs).
- Understanding of multiple SDLC models including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and V-Model.
