Modivcare is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing robust software solutions to test applications and systems to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality.

This role...
  • Develops and maintains automated test scripts and frameworks to validate software functionality and performance across various platforms.

  • Collaborates with software developers to identify and resolve defects and quality issues.

  • Participates in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, and testing.

  • Reviews and analyzes system specifications and documentation to ensure testability and alignment with business requirements.

  • Executes manual and automated test cases and analyzes results to ensure application quality.

  • Identifies, documents, and tracks bugs and software defects.

  • Performs thorough regression testing after bug fixes or new deployments.

  • Creates and maintains test documentation and detailed test reports.

  • Develops and applies testing processes for both new and existing products to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Liaises with internal teams to gather and validate system requirements.

  • Supports DevOps by validating CI/CD pipelines, build reliability, automated deployments, and environment readiness through smoke and health checks.

  • Collaborates with Infrastructure teams to test environment changes, and develops automation to validate components such as load balancers, certificates, networking, deployments, and database performance or failover scenarios.

  • Remains current on emerging testing tools, frameworks, and industry best practices.

  • Coordinates with geographically distributed teams.

  • Writes SQL queries and performs API and database testing.

  • Participates in other projects or duties as assigned.

We are interested in speaking with individuals with the following…
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required.

  • Three (3) plus years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or a similar role.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Proven experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber, BDD).

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and validating builds, deployments, and environment readiness.

  • Hands-on experience testing infrastructure-related changes such as environment configurations, application deployments, and database integrations.

  • Strong experience in API and database testing, including writing SQL queries and validating data flows.

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and testing processes.

  • Solid understanding of software development and test automation principles.

  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, TypeScript, Python, or JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks, regression testing, and continuous testing practices.

  • Working knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and validating build and deployment workflows.

  • Ability to test infrastructure-related changes, including environment configurations, deployments, and database integrations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Engineering, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams.

Salary: $81,000 - $111,400
