The Role

FanCode is India’s premier sports destination committed to giving fans a highly personalised experience across content and merchandise for a wide variety of sports. Founded by sports industry veterans Yannick Colaco and Prasana Krishnan in March 2019, FanCode has over 100 million users. It has partnered with domestic, international sports leagues and associations across multiple sports.

In content, FanCode offers interactive live streaming for sports with industry-first subscription formats like Match, Bundle and Tour Passes, along with monthly and annual subscriptions at affordable prices.

Through FanCode Shop, it also offers fans a wide range of sports merchandise for sporting teams, brands and leagues across the world.

We have one mission: to create a platform for all sports fans, built by sports fans. We're just starting our journey and growing rapidly. Our front-end tech stack includes React Native for mobile apps, React & Redux with SSR for FanCode Web, and Android Native for TV apps. We are heavily focused on video technology, actively working with players like ExoPlayer, AVPlayer, and VideoJS, along with ad integrations and piracy-related solutions. Your Role:

Lead the development and maintenance of high-quality Android applications, with contributions to React Native codebases.
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define, design, and deliver scalable, high-performance mobile experiences.
Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness across a variety of Android devices.
Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot, and fix bugs to maintain app stability.
Maintain high code quality standards, write clean and testable code, and follow best practices in Android development.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in Android SDKs, tools, and development patterns.

Must Haves:

4-6 years of experience in native Android development.
Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin.
Solid understanding of Android architecture components, UI frameworks, and best practices.
Working experience with React Native (1+ year preferred) for cross-platform support.
Familiarity with the full mobile development lifecycle, including play store deployment.
Experience integrating and consuming RESTful APIs.

Good to Have:

Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for mobile app deployment.
Experience with UI Automation and Unit testing
Experience with ExoPlayer and Video technology
Experience with Ad Tech
Experience with GraphQL.
Knowledge of common third-party libraries and SDKs used in Android development.
